Plasma Melting of Waste Residuals

Plasma Torches can be utilized to recover valuable calorific value from diverse waste residuals. This is achieved by converting all the carbon to syngas and melting the inorganics at temperatures upwards of 8,000°C. Most waste materials can be reduced to molten slag.

In addition to reducing the disposal volume significantly, the plasma melting process also encapsulates hazardous molecules within a dense silica matrix that prohibits leaching. The vitrified material has substantial commercial value (such as cement additive or clean aggregate). APEC can explore such possibilities with clients.
